Algebra Students Construct Spaghetti Bridges

With the goal of building the lightest, yet strongest bridge made out of spaghetti, Intro to Algebra classes set off to do just that in this annual project that combines mathematics, research, teamwork, history, and engineering. In groups of three or four, students had to select a company name, assign responsibilities, design a presentation in Keynote on an iPad, document the process, test the strength of the bridge, and ultimately present their findings.
