King and I Preview Promises Spectacular Musical

This afternoon cast members of the  The King and I, put on a preview of this coming weekend’s performance. The audience received a sneak peek at a selection of scenes and songs including “My Lord and Master,” “Hello, Young Lovers,” “I Have Dreamed,” and “Shall We Dance?” STAB’s production of the beloved musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II is slated for February 22-24.

Based upon the true story of an English schoolteacher hired by the King of Siam to help modernize his country, the musical follows the relationship between the schoolteacher, Anna Leonowens, and the King, revealing their growing respect, acceptance, and love for one another. The not-to-be-missed production promises spectacle in the form of set and costume design, choreography, and beautiful music.

Performances will be held on Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. on the Greenway Rise Campus (2132 Ivy Road), in Randolph Hall Auditorium.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. The final dress rehearsal on Thursday, February 21 at 7:00 p.m. is free and open to the public, though contributions to a specified charity will happily be accepted. For more ticket information visit www.stab.org/wintermusical.
