Last week, St. Anne’s-Belfield School ninth graders journeyed to southeast Kentucky as part of the annual Doug’s Trip. The Class of 2016 partnered with the Christian Appalachian Project to serve at 13 sites over a four-day period. Through the trip, which is named in honor of alumnus Douglas Robert Wardle, four previous classes of freshmen have volunteered a week of service in an area of the country in need of assistance.

Together with faculty members, students served residents of southeast Kentucky by demolishing and rebuilding porches, replacing doors and windows for energy efficiency, installing vinyl siding, and constructing handicap accessibility ramps.
