St. Anne’s-Belfield School hosted a festive Madrigal Dinner complete with feasting and comedic and vocal performances on December 12.

This sixth annual Madrigal Dinner featured the 74-student Upper School Concert Choir performing pieces including Tomas Luis Victoria’s O Magnum Mysterium and Fum, Fum, Fum, a traditional Catalan dance carol arranged by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw. Mr. Rob Lane, the chair of the School’s performing arts department, conducted, and keyboard accompaniment was provided by Dr. Shelby Sender.

“The Madrigal Dinner is a wonderful celebration of the holiday season,” said Lane. “There is something special about having the students dress up in Renaissance costume that really makes the event come alive in a magical way.”
