Grades 5 – 8 Raise Funds for Food Allergy Research
During the February 29 Learning Village Grades 5 – 8 Morning Meeting, the Oakey family was on hand to present a “giant check” to Kate Rullman, a representative of the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital. Students Victoria and Hunter Oakey live with severe food allergies, and they recently delivered a Chapel and sponsored a “dress down” day to raise funds for related research.
“It’s really inspiring for us to see kids helping kids, right here,” Ms. Rullman told the assembled audience.
In total, a check for $1,000.00 was presented to Ms. Rullman in order to support food allergy research and awareness.
