Pre-School Continues Birthday Fairy Tradition

For more than two decades the Birthday Fairy has flown to the St. Anne’s-Belfield Pre-School to help celebrate students’ birthdays.

In addition to tracing the birthday boy or girl on a large piece of paper, the Birthday Fairy bestows upon the student a magic wand that allows him or her to sprinkle “fairy dust” on others who are then able to offer a brief description of their favorite activities to enjoy with the birthday student. All descriptions are written around the tracing, and the birthday boy or girl is able to bring the paper home. Before she leaves, the Birthday Fairy also gives the birthday boy or girl a gift of magic birthday stones, as many as are equal to the student’s new age. The stones will help the student grow big and strong. Later in the day, after the Birthday Fairy has returned home, Mrs. Carpenter uses Mrs. Van Liew’s pound cake recipe to bake a special treat!
